  • Licensing Nxfilter

    Hello!
I'm implementing Nxfilter in a network with approximately 60 hosts, as the current version of Nxfilter doesn't support Shallalist anymore I'm thinking about using Globlist and creating a custom block list. With this configuration, can I have some kind of problem for licensing reasons, stop the service due to excess connections? Will the use by number of hosts be unlimited as described by Globlist? Or does this setting result in some kind of license break?

Thank you very much in advance.

It's free and works for unlimited number of users as stated in here, https://nxfilter.org/tutorial/e-what...gorization.php

Hi and thanks for your work.

      In my case:
I have aprox.30 PCs, that using "NXFilter" as filtering DNS server.
I tuning "NXFilter" for filtering by "white domain list". (i.e., on "policy" settings page i checked option "Block All" and on "WHITELIST" > "Common bypass" page i checked option "Bypass Filter" and filled MEMO field "Domain").

Unfortunately not all my PCs have restricted access to Internet: some machines have full (unfiltered) access to Internet and in log ("LOGING" > "Request": "reason" column) for DNS request from such PCs i see "Too many users for the license".

I correctly understand that its happening because i use "Jahaslist" ("use" - in means - selected by default) and if i select "Globlist" then all my PCs will be have restricted access to Internet?

I don't understand what you are saying. Globlist works globally. If you block a category of it, all the users will be blocked for that category.

My question: same behavior well be applied for any count DNS clients or only for 25
