  • wrong password??

    Hello all,

    running nxfilter on a RasPi
after the holidays i want to re-enable the filter but my password seems to be wrong
which is bizar, because i'm using KeePass to remember it... for ages
so after some research, i found the reset-pw.sh , executed it, but still cant seem to login (using admin/admin)

Am i missing something here ?

    thanks !

    M.

Did you run that script while it's running? You should run it while it's running.

It should be working but if it doesn't stop it and zip your /nxfilter/db/config.h2.db file and send it to us at 'support@nxfilter.org'. We can reset the password.

I copied your config DB file into our test server and I could login to admin GUI with admin/admin. It's already admin/admin. I guess there's something wrong with your browser. Try another browser. Could be some cache problem.

Did you get this kind of log message?

INFO [10-13 03:34:45] - ALDl, Login attempt for admin from 127.0.0.1.
          INFO [10-13 03:34:45] - ALDlA, Password different!

If so, stop it and try these,

          mv /nxfilter/db /nxfilter/xdb
          mkdir /nxfilter/db

And restart it. And see if you can login with admin/admin. It's a new config DB. Just want to see if you can login with everything default.

              stopped the service
              disabled the service
              moved the nxfilter-dir to nxfilterold
              got the newest version .deb
              installed that on my pi
              created the service
              started the service
              ...

same result... admin/admin still not working

Whatever it is, it's not a password problem. You have rebuilt your config DB. Was there something changed from last login on your system? I guess there should be. But it's difficult to find.

Do you get anything in /nxfilter/log/nxfilter.log when you try to login?

                Code:
                tail -f /nxfilter/log/nxfilter/log
Or you just can start it on your CMD and watch its output.

You mean you get the "wrong password message" but it's not in the log file? Send us all the log files in /nxfilter/log.

Maybe you can zip whole /nxfilter directory and upload it somewhere and send us a link to it. We can test NxFilter itself. If you remove /nxfilter/log/traffic*, it will not be too big. Or you can test it on your PC.

i finally decided to rebuild all of my RasPi
i want to thank nxfilter.org for the effort in solving my issue (which was eventually a problem on my Pi (not nxfilter issue) )

OK. Good to hear that. If it works for you, that's the best.
