  • User receiving Connect to Wi-Fi Network - Captive Portal Authorization?

I'm having an issue with a user establishing a full connection. The user picks up an IP address and I verified it's seen on the LAN but the device receives an error to sign-in to the Wi-Fi network first, and then it goes to a Captive Portal Authorization with a site that can't be reached.

It seems this is from nxfilter as it's a device/subnet that is only on nxfilter. Any idea how to troubleshoot this or why this is coming up?

    Thanks ahead of time...

You need to see if there's anything blocked on NxFilter side. If you enabled authentication on NxFilter, it might be normal. You can create a default user associating whole IP range of your network and then allow the domain they need to access when they startup.

If this is not an answer you are looking for, upload a capture for your problem.

Where does one look for the block? The whole IP range is allowed.. where else do I look?

What's exactly 'Captive Portal Authorization with a site that can't be reached'? A message in your browser? Is it just a message or you can't use Internet?

Some dumb browsers send DNS queries for random domains to find out if there's Captive Portal in the network. If they get blocked they show messages about Internet Login. Is it something like that?

Enable debugging and look into what happens in your log when it happens. https://nxfilter.org/tutorial/i-faq.php#enable-debug
