Can somebody tell me how these policies affect one another? What takes absolute prescedence? I would think "BLOCKED CATEGORIES" would take absolute prescedence but "SCREEN TIME CATEGORIES" firmly kicked me int he balls yesterday. I'm deeply confused.

Free Time/Screen Time???

I was confused because for some reason "SCREEN TIME" overrode my blocked categories. I had checked everything in "SCREEN TIME" because of what my assumption of screen time meant. Users don't get no f'ing screen time. I am the network not-z coo coo kachoo! I have worked for several large companies and have used Websense and some "iron.." something another at a military contractor and for a large government org. Anyway, I had to uncheck all of that stuff on screen time or I was blocked across the board on everything. For Screen Time, suppose you want to allow your users to use Shopping category only 2 hours a day. Then set 'Screen Time' to 120 muniutes and block Shopping on 'Screen Time Categories'. If you block multiple categories then they can use the websites in those categories for 2 hours only (approximately).
For Free Time, it's about Dual Policy setting for a user. You can set work-time policy and free-time policy for a user. And you can define 'Free Time' on 'Policy > Free Time'. To find out more, https://forum.nxfilter.org/tips-tric...ng-by-nxfilter
I want to know what takes prescedence in the block? Is it SCREEN TIME --> BLOCKED CATEGORIES --> FREE TIME? I like to know how things work under the hood if possible. But my brain has been jogged pretty hard over the past month or so with this being part of a larger project. ISC's KEA dhcp relay was beating me up before this.
I don't mind doing a deep dive if you can lead me to a document I'll do so and leave you alone for a bit.

There were 2 questions and I answered to wrong one
Policy application process could be a bit confusing as NxFilter have evolved to accommodate various needs. I think you'd better read this first, https://forum.nxfilter.org/tips-tric...em-of-nxfilter
Block Categories comes before Screen Time. You just block it by categories. If there are allowed sites and you want to set some allowance to these sites then you use Screen Time.
Screen Time doesn't work before you set some positive number for it. If you leave it with 0, it doesn't work.
