  • No DNS Resolution - Radius

    Hello,
I'm asking for your help again. We've deployed Radius authentication for our iPads. Everything seems to be working fine; we have the data in the logs.

However, the next day, or when users move to other terminals, they no longer have functional DNS resolution (and nothing in the DNS requests). 802.1x authentication is working.

The only solution to temporarily resolve the problem is to turn off the Wi-Fi and turn it back on, or restart the tablet.

I can't find any lines in nxfilter.log when the resolution isn't working. After a long time (sometimes more than 20 minutes), the resolution works again. We have no issues on computers that are authenticated via vxlogon. Do you have a clue?

    Thanks in advance.

You may need to read this, https://tutorial.nxfilter.org/c-sso-by-802-1x.php#de

However, 20 minutes is not normal. It usually takes several seconds if it's from this first contact problem. Anyway, try to create a user associating whole network IP range.

      Hello,

      Thank you for your reply)

I think I found where the problem comes from. I disabled the "Day and Time Restrictions" from the Windows Radius server on some tablets.
I tested it over several days. Those who still have this setting have connection losses (during authorized hours) and those who do not have it no longer have this problem.
