Custom zone file per user/IP/group?

Is it technically possible (even if not in the UI) to have a custom zone file that can only be applied to a particular user/incoming IP?

We have a scenario where we need to do an override on a domain just for one user/group/IP whereas all others should get the normal DNS record from the upstream server.

No, You have to install 2 instances.

What can be done to offer this option? It's a crucial thing for us to be able to do with the product.

Is there a way for you to build such an option in? Any other way to manually achieve it on the server directly?

You may try BIND and its View feature. It seems like it supports multiple zone files according to client IPs.

Does nxfilter use bind on the server? Which files are the configs saved to when you save a zone?
