Understanding AD Users and Groups

I have imported some users from my AD.
At the same time, I imported some groups, but not all.

I read on Reddit, a support member answered that you cannot create a membership relation between AD users and NxFilter groups.
So that means that I either have to create the groups I'm going to be assigning policies on in the AD and import them, or if I want to use NxFilter groups, my users can't be imported from AD?

The importation should be one directional. From AD to NxFilter. And these AD users and groups should be managed on AD side. We can't write anything on AD. If you can join AD users to the groups you created on NxFilter GUI then it will be reset next time we import users and groups from AD.
