  • No internet Icon After installing NxProxy

Good morning Team, Happy new year to everyone, I am having this situation, I have a computer that must connect to a VPN to have access to the shared drives behind a firewall in this case the firewall is the VPN server and the computer connect to it, because this computer is not behind the firewall and the type of connection is split tunnel I can't apply web or DNS filtering, so I decided to install nxproxy to accomplish this goal.

When I installed nxproxy on the computer I ran a test and it worked fine the category of the websites I blocked were blocked as expected and I was able to access the resources using the VPN, the problem is that when I restarted the computer I saw the no internet icon on the computer, but I do have internet connection on the computer, this is creating a problem that when I tried to connect to the VPN it doesn't work I am assuming that the vpn applications issue is related to the fact that the no internet icon is showing up.

I uninstalled nxproxy and the internet connection icon went back to normal and the vpn application connected to the VPN as normal.

Can someone help me with this issue why the no internet icon is showing up when installing nxfilter?

I read on another post to check if dns.msftncsi.com and msftconnecttest.com are being blocked and the thing is that none of those domains are being blocked.

if someone can help me with this issue, I would really appreciate it. Thanks beforehand.

I don't see that 'No Connection' icon on my win11 when I tested NxProxy. However, I think I saw it several years ago but not making any problem for me.

I tested my Express VPN while I am running NxProxy and I could use it. Though it might be different from your VPN situation.

Hi thank you for replaying so fast the problem is not just the VPN connection, which is not working, is the fact that I have the no internet connection icon on my computer.

Once I uninstall nxproxy it comes back up, I don't know if I am downloading and old or different version of nxproxy. Can you provide me with more detail from where I can download the lates version.

and if you have any other ideas of what could be causing this, please let me know. thank you.

Did you try to check your network info? Try 'ipconfig /all' on your CMD. You may find something. If it's not confidential, you may post the result here.

If it's for NxProxy, it should be about DNS resolving. But you said those domains being used to check the internet connection were not blocked. You still can try to resolve them through NxProxy though.

        What's your OS? Win11?

You can download the latest NxProxy from our download page: https://nxfilter.org/p4/download/

Hi I found the issue it was with my internal network on the test environment someone misconfigured and typed a wrong subnet, after changing the network it worked fine thank you very much.
