  • nxFilter-Azure

I am running nxFilter 4.7.02 (Azure version). I want to upgrade to the latest 4.7.0.7 however there is no longer an option to download the Azure version!

Is it any useful? We implemented it but we have some doubts about its future. Recently, Microsoft announced that they will require 2 factor authentication for this Entra thing. At first they change the name of Azure AD to Entra and now they have made 2 factor authentication mandatory. Don't know what they are trying to achive.

I guess they don't think of it to be replacing local AD now. Something changed in their plan I guess. Maybe they realize it's not possible to move AD into cloud so they just want to steal people's identities or phone numbers.

On our side, we don't know how to implement it and we even don't know if it's any useful to us. Suppose, there's someone trying to use the internet but he needs to go through this 2 factor authentication. I think that's too much. So, we stopped supporting it.

Mu users login to their computers using Entra with 2 factor authentication. All computers have cxlogin installed. I don't actually have a connection to Azure Directory created but am using the Azure version of nxFilter.

Will this setup continue to work with the latest version of nxFilter?

Then what function of NxFilter-Azure you need? Do you import users from this Entra thing? And it doesn't require 2 factor authentication when importing users?

I don't import. New users get a default profile. I can't remember why I used the Azure version initially. Can I overwrite the Azure version with the latest version and expect functionality to continue?

I think it's ok. Try overwrite it.
