  • New to service / Questions on list

Few questions as i am new to the service.
    1. How do i know whats in a given list? So for example i want to see what website is in which category in Jahaslist. How do i do this? How do i know how a website is categorized?
    2. Is this an open source or closed source project/ How well vetted is the code here?
    3. Where are you getting your databases? Comparing to larger vendors who charge thousands of dollars how are you doing this with a low cost?

I am testing and so far its good but the unknown nature of this with little documentation is a bit worrisome.

    1. Use 'Category > Domain Test' to find out which domain is in which category.

    2. We don't do open source. We do this business more than 10 years. It's already proven. Read this, https://forum.nxfilter.org/announcem...e-best-for-you

    3. We built our own database that is Jahaslist. It's possible because we also have experience in building web classification engine. We know the business. It's low cost because we built everything by our own.

And we also know Large Vendors. One of the large vendor software is our work. So, when we say that we know the business, it also means that we know what's going on in those Large Vendors.

Don't believe everything they say on their homepage. Most of them are just sales people. They don't know what they are talking about.

For classification, in old days, our approach is more open. We actaully tried to show people how it works. But for some reason, not anymore. We had some annoying experience as a result of our openess. So we don't open it anymore.

Today, our classification engine classified 'growthplements.store' as a shopping site. We see the log for its classification result in our admin GUI. We will show you some part of it. Hope this get you some idea.

        Thanks for responding.
To be clear, im not here to give anyone from this project a hard time. I found nxfilter recommended by a few people and so I'm testing the functionality of it.
So my background is from an open source advocate individual whos not against using commercial projects in my design as long as its secure and well maintained and supported project.
Im sorry you have had negative experiences with others and i assure you i will try to not be aggressive but please be understanding from where i am coming from.

Checking the tutorial page of your site along with roaming the site, does the database used for categorization get updated automatically or is there some prompt in the GUI alerting that the db should be updated? How does that work?

edit: I found the answer in your forums.

Each NxFilter has its own dynamic classifier. It activates by certain criteria. It tries to classify new domains and if it couldn't find an appropriate category then it queries our cloud based classifier. So, it's like hybrid between local classifier and cloud classifier. And it also does bulk update once a day overnight. So, everything works automatically.
