  • NxFilter not working for the second VLAN

    Hello dear Sirs and Madams

I love NxFilter, i´m using it for my home-network, installed on my raspberry pi for 2 main purposes: parental controls for the kids, and for add-blocking for the whole house. Thus i have 2 different VLANs -one for us adults, and one for the kids. First i configured it for the kids VLAN to filter out all adult contents and have safe-search on "strict" mode. I plotted in the ip-addresses for the kids VLAN in the adult-content-policy, and i put in ip address for the DNS server in kids VLAN to be the one of the NxFilter/raspberry Pi in my router (Omada with TP-Link) and it works perfect.

    Here comes my problem.
I repeat the exact same for the adult-VLAN, DNS ip showes up correctly on the adult clients PCs and phones, but there is no internet. What am i doing wrong?

Your users need to be able to connect NxFilter. And NxFilter needs to be able to see the IP address of your users to authenticaste them. Check the connectivity to NxFilter from your 2nd VLAN using Dig or Nslookup first.

You are right, i cant connect to NxFilter, Nslookup cant find the ip-adr of the NxFilter..
Why is this? when both VLANs have same setup with same ip-adr of the NxFilter?
