  • cloudflare - wrong category

I typically have NXFilter running in an automatic state. I don't reassign catorgories and blocking system works well. Recently I've seen an uptick in the Porn category but when i investigate its just cloudflare DNS....Why?
I thought classification happens automatically (not sure the frequency) but something like this should be basic enough to not get wrong.

We have many sources for categorization. Some of them are not under our control. There can be miscategorization always. We will put it into Proxy/Anonymizer.

It's blocked by system as it can be used for DoH to bypass your filtering. We block the DNS domains supporting DoH at default.

      Understood.
      Follow up question
How often are sites categorized? Seeing Porn show up in the report on a restrictive VLAN is quite a treat 😂

How often are the site categorizations getting updated?

We use dynamic classification for Jahaslist. When an unclassified domain is encountered, NxClassifier, the dynamic classifier integrated into NxFilter, attempts to classify it based on its ruleset. However, to avoid overloading your system, the local ruleset is smaller compared to the cloud-based classifier. If NxClassifier fails to classify a domain, it communicates with our cloud-based classifier for further analysis.

Additionally, there's a daily bulk update. This update includes a list compiled by our cloud-based classifier and other external sources.
