  • Cluster Not Working

    Hello,

I have two servers: one master and one slave, and both are on different networks. The master server is working perfectly fine, and I am using Active Directory for users and groups with CXlogon Authentication. Everything is functioning well on the master server. The slave server can also communicate with the master server and can successfully perform telnet on all the required ports to the master server.

However, the issue I'm facing is that while the master server is blocking domains and enforcing policies as expected, the slave server is not blocking anything according to the logs. When I turn off the master server, I can access all the blocked websites. Although I have added the DNS (master and slave) on my system, the slave server still isn't enforcing the blocks.

If anyone can help me fix this issue, it would be greatly appreciated.

Are you saying that it's not blocking when master node down? Or it doesn't block regardless of master node running or not?

I guess you need to put both servers in the same network normally. But not sure if this is the source of the problem though.

      Hi, Thankyou for your response

My master server works fine and blocks websites as expected. However, when I turn off the master server, the slave server doesn't block the websites that the master server used to block. My question is, even though the master and slave servers are not on the same subnet, they are able to communicate with each other every minute, as shown in the image above.

Using them in different networks would be OK I guess.

Did you restart your salve node when master node down? Then it doesn't get the policy from its master node and doesn't work properly.

I have tried both the scenarios but it is not working, any hint from your side can help me to fix the issue

What are 'both the scenarios'? I just told you that it's normal if it's not working when you restart your slave node as it can't load its policy.
